Weekly Link-Up Schedule

I've found that one of the best ways to gather and share schooling and child-centered ideas has been through weekly link-ups.  I've come to depend on the creative ideas of others to inspire me and guide me as I pull together our homeschool activities.  I also love to share our ideas with others, and that has been made possible primarily through linky parties!  I honestly don't know how people homeschooled before the internet. ;)

The following is a {growing} list of weekly link-ups that I like to participate in.  I felt lost in the sea of linky parties out there, so I compiled this list and included a bit of info on each of them- when to link up, what type of post to link, and a little about why I like them.   I've created this list both for myself, to make it easier to link up through the week, and for those looking for linky parties to participate in (or just gather ideas from) but not sure where to start. This list will likely be updated frequently. :)

Monday:
  • Montessori Monday (Hosted by Deb at Living Montessori Now)-- A linky for any Montessori-inspired activity or idea.  Linky begins at 6am Monday mornings.  I've linked different unit studies, sensory bins, and tot school/tot trays to this site.  Deb Chitwood is on top of things when it comes to highlighting seasonal theme ideas!  I love looking through her list of chosen themed activities every week on her Montessori Monday posts. :)

Tuesday:
  • Tuesday Tots  (a collaborative linky hosted by Rainy Day Mum,  Learn with Play at Home,  In Lieu of Preschool, and Growing a Jeweled Rose).  Posts containing ideas for children 5 and under are linked up to this party every week.  Each host features her favorite posts linked from the week before and there is a large selection of new crafty and playful toddler-friendly ideas linked up each week.  This linky is a great place to collect ideas if you're looking to score "fun mom" points!

Wednesday:

Thursday:

  • The Kids Co-Op (a large collaborative linky hosted by many bloggers).  This is for any creative kid-related post.  Many link here and several posts from the previous week's link-up are featured every week.

Friday:
  • Preschool and Kindergarden Corner (hosted by Jolanthe at Homeschool Creations).  Homeschool Creations is a wonderful blog and Jolanthe seems to be such a sweet and very well organized mom with lots of helpful resources to share.  But I'm sure if you're here, you've visited Homeschool Creations a few times!  Love this link-up, and I don't think I'm alone....  I get the most traffic to my blog through this linky.

  • Read.Expore.Learn (hosted by JDaniel4's Mom).  This is a wonderful linky where participants share activities to go along with children's books.  I love children's books and am so happy I've found this link-up!  It's one of my favorites. :)

  • For the kids Fridays (hosted by Rachel at Sun Scholars).  This is a fun, creative blog.  Many link up here every week and she features a few posts from the previous week.  Link up "anything done with the kids, for the kids or by the kids."

  • Learn and Link (hosted by Nicole at Mama to 4 Blessings).  This is a link-up for any learning activity or craft.  She includes a big list of linky parties that she participates in as well- many of the linkies listed here I found through her list!

  • TGIF (hosted by Beth at 123 Homeschool 4 Me).  This is a popular linky full of lots of creative ideas!  Beth features her favorite posts from up the week before, as well as the "most clicked on" post.  It's a great place to find fun learning activities.

  • Homeschool Mother's Journal (hosted by iHomeschool Network).  I have yet to link up here, but I LOVE the idea behind it.  You choose from a list of journal prompts... "In my life this week...," "In our homeschool this week...," "My favorite thing this week was...," and so on.  It's a way to record what the week was like for both you and your kids.  I've really been wanting to write more on my blog about our life as homeschoolers, and this format will give me a quick, easy way to accomplish that and a community to share it all.

  • Weekly Wrap-up  (hosted by Kris at Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers).  I've linked up here a couple times in the past, but intend to get in there again soon.  All posts about your homeschooling week are welcome, but I've found that most who link up here share more posts that are in the same vein as the Homeschool Mothers Journal (i.e. more talk about what homeschool life was like that week, and less craft tutorials and learning games).  Like I said, I really want to spend some time reflecting on our life as homeschoolers, and  I love that there are places to share it all.  Kris is a wonderful writer too, I always enjoy reading her blog when I pop over there!

Saturday:
  • Show and Share  (hosted by Jenae at I Can Teach My Child).  This is a fantastic blog! The linky is for any child-centered activity, craft, etc.  There are lots of wonderful ideas to gather here, and Jenae always features some of her favorites from the week before.

Sunday:
  • Tot School Gathering Place (hosted by Carisa at 1+1+1=1).  I doubt much more needs to be said.   Like Homeschool Creations, I'm sure if you're here, you've visited Tot School once or twice. :)  I was so psyched when Carisa announced the new format of Tot School where she features a few ideas gathered from the previous week's linky.  I usually find great  letter of the week and fine motor ideas through this linky!

  • Link and Learn (Hosted by No Time for Flash Cards).  I cannot believe the creativity of the bloggers that link up here!!  Lots of "Pinteresting" ideas can be found through this linky party. :)  This also tends to post Saturday night.

  • Science Sunday (hosted by Ticia at Adventures in Mommydom).  I was so excited when I discovered this link-up.  I was never a fan of science when I was younger, but LOVE homeschool science with my kids!  It's nice to have a place to share science-related activities with others.

  • Stress Free Sunday (hosted by Mary Catherine at Fun-a-Day).  Link any ideas related to kids and families.  Such a cute blog too, just discovered it!

I know there are many, many other homeschool and child-centered linkies out there!  Do you have a favorite linky party?  Let me know.  Like I said, this will be an ongoing, frequently updated post.
