Snow Globe Family

We did "snow week" a couple weeks ago, but I'm just getting around to posting about it.  Instead of writing one long post about everything we did, I'm gonna break it up into small parts.  First up, Snow Globe Family...
Snow Globe Family
We started the week out by reading this lovely book and doing some activities to go along with it.  We all really loved this book.  We checked it out from the library, but this is a definite "must buy" for us.

Snow Globe craft and writing prompt

I got this little craft idea from Mrs Jump's Class

Our own snow globe:

This was just some left over Christmas decorations and a laminated snowman picture hot glued to a spaghetti sauce lid.  We added water and glitter to the jar then screwed the lid back on.  Turn it upside down and Voila! A snow globe.

Snow Globe Snack

This wasn't much of a snack.  As you can see, it's just some marshmallows in an upside down storage bowl.  The idea from recipe.com was so adorable, I just had to try it out.  Please click the link-- Seriously cute.  What I am showing is not even close to the cute little "snow globe" they made.  After seeing it, I scrounged around to see what I could come up with (without going to the store).  Kinda sad, I know.  But my kids didn't mind a bit.  They loved the book and they all go crazy for marshmallows, so it was a win-win for us all the same.

** Later in the week, we re-read the book while enjoying crumb cake and "tea" (aka hot chocolate), just like they did in the story.
